Still alive

Just really busy with house stuff, and my Mac is not unboxed yet because the office is a San Francisco earthquake-level disaster area right now. (Just wait 'til the Giants come up to bat!)
We moved in Friday. I promise there will be an email to everyone with the new home and phone info just as soon as the Mac is up; that's where my main address book is. Everything is at the new house except the big fish tank, which I need to call Mom about -- that may be Wednesday.
Since we got the house, we have had the electrician (fixed the wires that were not in conduit), the plumber, the chimney sweep, and the painters (they did the whole exterior, the garage floor, two bathrooms and one bedroom). We're having the plumber back for the water softener on Thursday; had to wait for the garage floor to be dry.
We're probably going to do another cull on our Stuff, though I'm pleased to report that I did in fact get my ludicrous quantities of kitchen stuff to all fit in the new kitchen. Huzzah. I will want pull-out drawers in the pantry, though. It's well-sized but mostly deep, and things will get lost in there if I don't have a way to get at them. The glass cabinets are full of my precious Japanese dishware and are so pretty. <3
I've run a billion loads of laundry since I've been washing all the clothes and quilts and stuff that were in storage. I know there's at least three more quilts hiding in boxes as padding still.
And it's still ridiculously hot here. Unusual, but not totally abnormal. That said, I'd really like to avoid the replay of one of my grade school years where it continued into the 100s right up to Halloween ...
