I promised a review of the bow.

Short: love it.

Long: it was properly oohed and ahhed over, to the tune of the Olympic archer asking to check its straightness so that if if was insufficiently straight, it could be sent back. (It's sufficiently straight. It is just barely off in the top segment. He suggested shimming it if I wanted to. I'm not sure I do -- it'd be more hassle than it's worth, really. But now I know how to check a bow for straightness, with the appropriate tools. And also -- for a $109 bow, it's just fine.)

I gave it most of the night of a run-through, until I got hungry and my shooting went to heck. It is just fine weight-wise and draw-wise. I have a minor gripe in that it rubs just a touch against the outside base of my thumb where it rests against the grip. I think a bow-hand glove will fix that; it just needs a little padding.

I shot the best damn grouping of my life tonight, too. Five arrows in a space no larger than my two hands put together in an "o", overlapping the red and gold. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time maintaining that consistency, but there were some other pretty good groupings in what I shot before I got tired and hungry.

I still need a few things to really be squared away, but the pricey part is done for now. Woo. I am pleased. I am looking forward to more shooty. (:

Also, I got to hang out with some of the regulars and that was nice too. (: And tease some of the teenagers. Which was fun. (: And got to hang with Kristina and have a nice dinner with her and with Mark. In general, a good time was had by all.

A dozen good arrows are going to run you about 3/4 the cost of the bow. ;) But yeah, the most expensive part is done.

That sounds like a *gorgeous* grouping! :)
